Charles Le Losq is a Maître de Conférence working at IPGP.

Clément Ferraina works as a Research Engineer in my group. His work aims at better constraining the properties of silicate melts at high pressure, in particular using diamond anvil cell experiments.
He is expert in experimental petrology and geochemistry (sample synthesis at high temperature and high pressure, including piston-cylinder, autoclave and diamond cell apparatus), and the related analysis methods of experimental and natural samples (e.g. MEB, TEM, Raman/Ir spectroscopy, LA-ICP-MS).
Matthieu Nougaret is a Ph.D. student that works on using machine learning and geophysical/geochemical data to try predicting the next eruptions fo the Piton de la Fournaise volcano.
After a Master’s degree in Geology, Matthieu started his Ph.D. under the supervision of Aline Peltier, Lise Retailleau and myself, working on time series processing with machine learning algorithms. His Ph.D. focuses on understanding if and how machine learning can help us decipher pre-eruptive signals in geophysical and geochemical time series acquired at volcano observatories. He is working on the well monitored, very active Piton de la Fournaise volcano.
